Description
This iconic kerb-side 1:18 scale Porsche 917LH driven by Gérard Larrousse and Vic Elford at the 1971 24 hours of Le Mans is presented signed and cased with all original boxes and a COA.
The 1971 Le Mans was buzzing with the cinema release of ‘Le Mans’ and honorary starter this year was Hollywood actor Steve McQueen with the opening of his film “Le Mans” that had been shot with footage from the 1970 race. Gérard Larrousse and Vic Elford started well and after 3 hours were in second place, nine hours in though the fan broke and the engine overheated – but that didn’t stop the legendary Martini liveried 917LH from being a firm fan favourite, helped by the survival of several 917s liveried with Martini sponsorship.
Fantastic quality model, presented signed and cased with all original boxes and a COA.
