Often regarded as one of the most recognizable and distinctive helmets of all time, Michael Schumacher’s 1998 season helmet, driving for Ferrari, is a bold and beautiful statement. This full-size replica is superb, with it’s chrome reflective coating, sponsor detailing and beautifully lined interior, this will form the centre-piece of any collection and a must-have for all Ferrari and Schumacher fans.
This helmet was the only one signed at a private signing session and sold by us to its first and only owner, some fifteen years ago, and has remained in his collection until we re-acquired it, carefully stored out of direct sunlight and in a helmet case (included), covered by a helmet bag (included) when not on view.
This helmet is beautifully hand signed by Michael Schumacher on the visor, and comes with the original Certificate of Authenticity we supplied with the helmet, including the MSM certificate (making this helmet an officially authorised and genuine item, guaranteed authentic) as well as our own Certificate of Authenticity stating this to be a genuine 1998 Suzuka Grand Prix replica, hand signed helmet.
The 1998 season was closely fought, with Mika Hakkinen leading into the final race, Schumacher needed to win and for Hakkinen to finish third or lower and the Championship would be his, but it wasn’t to be and the two-times Formula 1 Champion was forced to retire with a puncture after an almighty fight from the back of the grid.
